On behalf of everyone in Group 2 I would like to pay tribute to one of our own who has been a stalwart of the Group for many years. Alma Cracknell has demonstrated a degree of loyalty rarely seen in the modern era.

His support has been manifest by his dedication to such tasks as Group Results Secretary. He was there for me during my time as County Competition Secretary, volunteering his services without having to be asked. His instant response to any request, be it the use of his Clubhouse for Group meetings, or availability to assist with Green Testing, was always positive, and made him a go to guy. He clearly believed it was his duty to work for the Group and he did so with a willingness that can never be surpassed. As a Group Delegate he was immense. Nothing was ever too much trouble.

Alma’s health has not been so great this last twelve months, and, whilst it was with considerable reluctance, he has agreed that it is time the responsibility for the task of Results Secretary went to someone else. He has also stood down as Group Delegate. All in the Group, especially those of us who worked closely with him, wish him a speedy return to full health, and our thanks for everything he has done throughout many years.
