Extracts from 2018 AGM

Statement of Accounts. The Secretary advised the meeting that in his opinion the Group continued to be was in a sound financial position. He stressed however that we should continue to be diligent, and be prepared for any eventuality. He recommended that the Match Fee for the first three games of the Ashford Cup, and Wally Ball Shield, and the first two games of the Inter Group Knockout be reduced to £2.00. He further recommended that should the Group reach one or all of the Finals then the match fees should be paid from Group Funds. This was approved.

The meeting agreed to take forward the purchase of Group shirts, using the design voted for on the web site. It was emphasised that the wearing of club shirts will be considered mandatory if selected to represent the Group in any of the three main competitions.

The Delegates confirmed that in 2019 the Ashford Cup will again be held at Braintree, and the Wally Ball at Bocking. As we have been drawn away in the Inter Group Knockout no venue is required for 2019. It was again stressed that the Group Competition Finals need to be located in the North and Delegates from these clubs were requested to seek a venue for 2019 and report this to Seamus.

Vic Cole and John Ovel were re-elected as Selectors for the South. The Delegates unanimously elected Phil Wood to fill the vacancy as a result of the death of Roy Howard. Derrick Giffin, Alex Wightman and Mick Harvey were re-elected for the North.
